Gordon Warren retired in 2008 as the Assistant Director of Bands at Bloomington High School after twenty-one years of teaching in District 87. A native of Mendota, Illinois, Mr. Warren received degrees from Illinois State University and the Vandercook College of Music. His previous teaching assignments include band positions in Massilon, Ohio, Newton, Iowa, and Rock Falls, Illinois. Mr. Warren is a percussionist by trade, but is also an accomplished singer in the Sound of Illinois Barbershop Chorus. Outside of the music world, Mr. Warren has served for several years as the Assistant Scout master of Boy Scout Troup 19 in Bloomington. His wife of 30 years, Pat, recently retired as the director of the seventh grade band at Bloomington Junior High School. Their two sons, Mike and Mark, are both graduates of the BHS Band Program. |
