IKWFApplication.pdf Established in 1994 to provide
District 87 kids,
ages 4-12, the opportunity to learn the sport of wrestling in an organized
environment. The Raider Wrestling Club teaches the fundamentals of
wrestling in an effort to prepare wrestlers to be competitive and
successful at the junior high and high school levels. In addition to
wrestling, the athletes are also taught good sportsmanship, discipline,
team participation and the importance of academics.
The Raider Wrestling Club is a sanctioned member of the Illinois Kids
Wrestling Federation (IKWF) and USA Wrestling. The Raider Wrestling Club
folkstyle season begins in early November. The winter season concludes in
March with the State Finals. Participation in IKWF affords kids the
opportunity to experience a high level State Wrestling Series during their
Middle School years.
The Raider Wrestling Club is a not-for-profit organization and not a part
of the District 87 school District. However, it works in conjunction
with the School District and its wrestling programs (high school and
junior high). The coaches at the Raider Wrestling Club work closely
with the junior high and high school coaches in order to train wrestlers
in the technique required at their respective levels. Many of the varsity
wrestlers at the high school and junior high are former members of the Raider Wrestling Club.
We welcome and encourage you and your wrestler's participation in The
Raider Wrestling Club.
