Class Schedule for 2009-20010
Project Calendar/Schedule
Mr.
M's Policies
Grades- All
grades will be based on a point system. Various assignments will be worth
different point values. Most assignments worth 21 or greater will be graded with
a rubric.
See
Sample Rubric.
Example:
10 for all sketchbook assignments and small one or two day projects.
50 points for medium size projects of five to ten days.
100 points for long or important projects.
Student behavior in class will also effect their project grades.
No incomplete will be given this year. A student that receives an
"F" for both semesters will not get credit for the class.
Late work-
Late work will be graded one grade lower than the grade would have been.
Example: A late "C" project will be no higher than a "D". To
promote quality artwork, "A" work will never be penalized. Any student
receiving an "A" on a project will get an "A" as long as it
meets the end of the quarter deadline.
Late
work turned in during the last full week of the quarter
can only receive half credit.
Project
due dates will overlap with a new project . The due date for the first project will not be due until four days
after the second project has been introduced.
Cheating- If
you are caught cheating, you will receive a zero with no chance to improve the
grade. The dean and parents of the student caught cheating will also be notified.
Tardiness-
The dean will be notified every third time a student is late. Four unexcused
absences will be grounds for an automatic "F" for the quarter. There
are not detentions for tardiness but each student receives a grade for
"Responsibility". Each time a student is late points will be deducted
from this category. Students can make these points up by serving detentions (in
room clean-up job for 15 minutes).
Projects-
No work will be accepted without a name clearly written on it. It is the
students responsibility to make sure that their work is turned in on time. Lost,
stolen or damaged work must be re-done to receive a grade. It's not the
teacher's responsibility to store work. Students that store their work in class
agrees to take all responsibility for it's safety.
Detentions-
All detentions are to be served from 2:15 to 2:30. The students have the option
of sitting quietly at their desk for 30 minutes or to do clean-up work for 15
minutes.
